Iloilo City’s poor have been empowered and enriched through an initiative that gives them the power and management to build their dream houses in city-owned resettlement sites through a socialized housing program.

This has been realized and made possible through the Community-led Infrastructure Finance Facility (CLIFF), a venture capital facility which enables organized urban poor communities leverage greater public-private and civil society sector resources for housing and basic services delivery.

The urban poor has benefited from a P25-M program funded by Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and Department for International Development (DFID) and being managed by UK-based NGO Homeless International.

CLIFF is now gaining ground in 1.6-hectare resettlement site in Brgy. San Isidro, Jaro district, nearing the completion of building a total 172 housing units by the beneficiaries themselves.
