The Iloilo City Government recognized an Ilongga who topped the Midwife Licensure Examination given earlier this month, thus giving pride and honor to the Ilonggos.
Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog gave a Mayor’s Citation and cash incentive during Monday’s flag raising ceremony to Maria Veronica J. Flores of IloiloDoctors’ College who topped the midwifery board exam with a rating of 87.90.
“Her triumphant feat as a board topnotcher is certainly a clear manifestation that Iloilo City is a producer of excellent professionals from our outstanding schools particularly Iloilo Doctors College where she graduated,” Mabilog said.
Flores led the 1,701 board passers in the examination results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Nov.1 8.
Another Ilongga Marienel M. Galas of New Lucena Polytechnic College placed 8th with a rating of 86.80.

Ortiz of Catanduanes State Colleges-Virac and Zandro D. Pluma of University of the Phil. School of Health & Sciences-Leyte, 87; 9) Jan Oliver Z. De Leon of Bataan Peninsula State University-Balanga (For. Bataan P.S), 86.70; and 10) Nikke Saldua of Bohol University of the Phil. School of Health & Sciences-Leyte and Baby Gina Tagapan of Gannaban Medical College of Northern Philippines, 86.55.
